Located at The Hilltop Complex, The Orchard enjoys a relaxed and pleasant indoor space as well as a chill outdoor area by the pool for dining al fresco.
The indoor area décor in warm wood and restful green hues celebrates Maltese cooking traditions. With jars of pickles, traditional checked dish cloths and gleaming glass bottles of infused olive oil, patrons can immerse themselves in a homely atmosphere, elevated by a superlative dining experience.
The outdoor pool area celebrates Mediterranean life and outdoor dining, where one can enjoy the serenity of the surrounding gardens, the chirping birds and the rhythmic lapping of the pool waters. The blue skies and fluffy white clouds are the perfect accompaniment to any spring lunch or balmy summer lunch or dinner. And with Malta’s mild climate and temperatures, it is always a good idea to take it outdoors in good weather.
We understand children have short attention spans and once they finish their food they’re usually on to the next thing for distraction. Our children’s area is well equipped for infants and young children to play together, so that they too may enjoy the outing and talk about it later when they get home. The area is decorated with bursts of primary colours to entice, stimulate and keep children busy. Built to require little supervision, our safe play structures with carpeting are designed to expend the energy of our little ones while the adults can get on with enjoying their meal and conversations.
More often than not families combine Saturday evening dinner and Sunday lunch with mass. Our modern chapel at The Hilltop Gardens offers patrons Sunday masses at 10.30 am and 11.30 am, celebrated by Fr Julian Cassar. The chapel is also open for mass Monday to Friday at 4.30 pm and Saturdays at 5 pm and 7 pm.
Due to current Covid restrictions, at present the chapel is only open for residents and private functions.
Why not couple your lunch or dinner with a pre-meal boċċi match? Our team will organise a game for you and your family, egged on by our amateur players who love the community feeling that this traditional game gives.
Boċċi may be played individually, in pairs or in a team of up to three and nanna and nannu can compete with their children and grandchildren. And why not, the losing team could foot the restaurant bill! So come and try your hand at throwing the green and red balls and cylinders. You may not make it to one of the thirty teams in Malta that compete in the annual league, but it sure is a way of making your family outing that more special.
The Orchard patrons may make use of our convenient underground car park free of charge. With 50 available spaces, you will find no issue parking your car in a comfortable, safe and secure space, sheltered from the elements. The car park is located in The Hilltop grounds, past the barrier and the guard room, and a stone’s throw away from the restaurant. Our complimentary service is just one additional perk of dining at The Orchard, so that all you need to do is focus on your food and family time.
